The Northern Ireland unemployment rate has hit 8%, the highest level since 1998.
The rate, as estimated by the Labour Force Survey (LFS), was estimated at 8% for the final quarter of 2010, an increase of 7% and 6% recorded in the previous quarter and year respectively.
Northern Ireland's inactivity rate remained significantly higher than the UK at 28.4% and 23.4% respectively.
