India Shares End Down

MUMBAI -- Indian shares closed lower for the third straight session Thursday, drawing on weak cues from Asian and European markets, but off early lows after government data showed a fall in food prices in late January. The Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensitive Index fell 0.7% to close at 17,463.04 after moving between 17,362.59 and 17,636.88. On the National Stock Exchange, the 50-stock SP CNX Nifty fell 0.5% to end at 5,225.80. Trading volume on the BSE fell to 36.90
