May 6 (Bloomberg) -- First Minister Alex Salmond’s pro- independence party made gains across Scotland in elections to the Edinburgh parliament, putting him within sight of a second- term majority armed with a mandate to push for greater autonomy.
British Prime Minister David Cameron vowed to defend the United Kingdom even as he congratulated Salmond on an “emphatic win”
