Wildfires burning in Scotland, N. Ireland

LONDON, May 3 (UPI) -- Scores of wildfires burned in Scotland and Northern Ireland, threatening homes and stranding campers and hikers, authorities said.
A forest in Berkshire in England was also hit by two separate fires, the BBC reported.
The spring weather in the British Isles has been abnormally hot and dry, with temperatures for April reported to be the highest in several centuries.
