Sued for Spill: US govt takes BP to court over Gulf of Mexico disaster
The US government has filed a multi-billion dollar lawsuit against BP and eight other companies for their roles in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill disaster. The suit seeks to hold the companies liable for clean-up costs as well as damages to businesses and the environment. An explosion at a BP leased oil-platform in April caused more than 6 million tons of oil to seep into the ocean, devastating wildlife and businesses across the area. RT on Facebook:
